While the RBI Program endeavors to produce good ballplayers, it is also our endeavor to assure that all players have a solid academic foundation. With that said we are once again proud and honored to announce that Anthony “Manny” Atkinson has received a full academic scholarship from Bacone College in Muskogee, OK where he will be majoring in Computer Programming. Anthony will be graduating from Lee’s Summit North High School On May 13, 2013 and will once spend his last year of RBI eligibility with the Diamond Masterz (18U) team. He will also have the opportunity to continue to play out his passion for baseball by trying out for the Bacone Warriors baseball team. Once again congratulations “Manny”.

We are proud to announce that DeMarcus Alexander has been offered and accepted a baseball scholarship from Highland Community College in Highland, KS. DeMarcus, who is currently playing with the Ruskin High School Eagles will be playing his last year of eligibility in the RBI Program once again with the Wolff Pack coached by Phil Dixon. Congratulations DeMarcus!!!

The Black Family Technology Awareness Association selected the Boy & Girls Clubs f Greater Kansas City and The John Thornberry unit for special recognition from the Black Family Technology Awareness Association.
Our organization and staff were nominated for our support of Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math (S.T.E.M.) in the community. Our partnerships with BFTAA for the first S.T.E.M. & VEX Robotics Summer Camp and the LEGO Robotics Qualifier are examples of the programs and projects that make the Boys and Girls Clubs great.

We are privileged to announce that on Thursday, January 17, 2013, Tyler Lockler (RBI Diamond Masterz 18U) will be signing his letter of intent to play baseball at Independence Community College. Tyler will be playing shortstop and pitching for Independence. Just to quote his dad, “I want to thank the RBI program for all your help in making Ty the player he is today.” Congratulations Tyler!
