Originally established as the East Side Unit, the J&D Wagner Unit has been serving the Kansas City community since 2004. In 2009, a $5.5 million renovation and expansion, led by Bob Firnhaber and Sally Groves through the Dreams to Reality Campaign, transformed the facility into the J&D Wagner Unit. The Club was named in honor of longtime supporters Jean and Don Wagner, and now provides a safe, supportive environment where youth can engage in academic, recreational, and leadership activities.
