Joyce Hayhow

Joyce Hayhow - 2025 BGCGKC Alumni Hall of Fame

After 27 years, Joyce Hayhow retired in January, 2015 from the Kansas City Business Journal where she served as president & publisher since 1991. Prior to joining the Business Journal she spent 13 years working in the advertising and media industries. A lifelong resident of Kansas City, Joyce resides in Leawood with her husband Jack.


Joyce has served on numerous boards. Her past volunteer activity includes: Board of Director, MOCSA, chairing the board twice; Board of Directors, and past board chair of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City; Board of Directors American Red Cross; Board of Directors Starlight Theater; Board of Directors of JDRF; Board of Trustees, Midwest Research Institute; Board of Directors, Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce; Board of Directors, KCADC; and past board chair of the Advancement Board of KU Academic Medical Center.


Joyce is currently serving as an emeritus board member of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City Board of Directors and the KU Advancement Board of Directors. In addition, she currently serves on the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City Board Development Committee and KU’s Cancer Funding Partners.
