CHIEFS DT GLENN DORSEY GIVES BACK AT LOCAL BOYS & GIRLS CLUB
WHAT: Kansas City Chiefs DT Glenn Dorsey will be making a special appearance at a local branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City. There, Dorsey will announce the donation of approximately $5,000 worth of sports equipment via his new Dream Big Foundation. Following this announcement, Dorsey will participate in a Q & A session with the children before partaking in some games as they try out this new equipment.
WHO: Dorsey along with children from the Thornberry Unit of the Boys and Girls Clubs
WHEN: Thursday, June 18 beginning at 2:00 PM
WHERE: Boys & Girls Clubs Thornberry Unit
3831 E. 43rd Street, Kansas City, MO 64130; Phone: 816-861-6300
WHY: A grizzled veteran when it comes to giving back, Dorsey is establishing the Dream Big Foundation as a vehicle to reach children both in Kansas City as well as his native Gonzales, LA. While in college at LSU, Dorsey tagged all his visits with youth by noting, "even if you're from a small town, you can dream big and make things happen."
For nearly 100 years, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City has promoted the development of self-esteem, values and skills for boys and girls, ages 5-18, with special emphasis on youth from disadvantaged circumstances. This year, nearly 7,000 children will participate in Club activities under the guidance of caring, trained staff and volunteers.
