BGC Youth and Magic Touch Join Forces to Help the Environment
On Earth Day, April 22, 2009, Boys & Girls Clubs youth, under the guidance of Magic Touch Cleaning’s “Green Experts” will collect rain in rain barrels, plant trees at each Unit to help better the environment and water the trees throughout the year with the rain collected.
As Americans use more of the Earth’s natural resources, we must learn to replenish those at the same time to ensure availability for future generations. This collaboration between a "green" company and Club members helps show today’s youth how to preserve our Earth and make sure our resources are around for their children in generations to come.
All five Boys & Girls Clubs locations will participate in this special celebration of Earth Day, starting at 3:00 p.m.:
Thornberry Unit – Kansas City, MO @ 3:00 pm
East Side Unit – Kansas City, MO @ 3:45 pm
Wyandotte County Unit – Kansas City, KS @ 4:45 pm
Leslie Unit – Independence, MO @ 5:45pm
Hawthorne Unit – Independence, MO @ 6:30 pm
